New Teacher is a CHS-TV Graduate!
Mr. Dave Tracy, Carthage High School Video Technology and Broadcast Journalism instructor, resigned his position as of December 16, 2011. Mr. Tracy took over the classroom in 2008, and he and his students created a new student webcast for CHS-TV, Bulldawg Bytes. Additionally they won a number of regional and state-level awards. (For more information, please visit the link
CHS-TV History!)
I am personally grateful to Mr. Tracy for his diligent work during my last three semesters as CISD's Media Director. Mr. Tracy is continuing his graduate work as a full-time student at the University of Texas at Tyler. He will soon be teaching on the college level.
Best wishes to Mr. Tracy!
Replacing Mr. Tracy as the new instructor is, for the first time in the department's 31-year history, a CHS-TV graduate!
Mr. Daron McDaniel was hired to be the fourth instructor in the department's history, and was a vital member of the 1999-2002 "crews" I had the pleasure of teaching. Mr. McDaniel holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Stephen F. Austin State University and has been working in broadcasting since his high school days.
In 2010, Mr. McDaniel asked me to "introduce" his 5:15 evening newscasts and it's been fun hearing him daily.

Congratulations, Mr. McDaniel!

Adrian Berry
We have learned of the passing away of Adrian Berry, a graduate of CHS-TV. Adrian was involved in my classes in 1993-94 and 1994-95. Our prayers are offered to her family, children. and friends.
Another CHS-TV graduate, ShaRonda Coleman Anderson, posted this on Facebook,
Sunday, November 27, 2011:
"ATTENTION CARTHAGE HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1995: We have truly lost one of the brightest twinkles of our eyes! As a class it would be really amazing if we could do something really special for Adrian and her family!"
UPDATE: Adrian's funeral was held on December 3, 2011. According to the obituary in the Panola Watchman, "A financial/medical account has been set up in her name at First State Bank & Trust Company (Carthage) for her three children."

This website is dedicated to the CHS-TV students who made my 25 years of serving as Instructor and Media Director at Carthage High School / Carthage ISD so memorable for me, as well as the 1981-85 students who started it all under the leadership of my predecessor, Mrs. Pat Webb. Of course, all current CHS-TV students, staff and friends are equally welcome. My goal is for this to be a place for CHS-TV friends to visit, submit comments, and renew memories and friendships.
